Obamaphiles still longing for Camelot

President Obama’s approval ratings are plummeting along with the Dow, and he’s just lost his stare-down with House Speaker John Boehner while presiding over a historic downgrade of U.S. credit. I don’t know about peak oil theory, but it seems clear that we must have passed peak hope some time ago. The Chris Matthews-style “thrill up the leg” is rarer these days.

Even so, Obamaphiles in the intelligentsia are finding it hard to fall out of love with “the One.”
