Washington Post reporter put on leave after participating in liberal conference: Report

Washington Post reporter Janell Ross has been put on leave by the news organization for speaking at a liberal conference in November, where Democratic lawmakers and liberal activists including billionaire George Soros were present.

Ross has been put on leave, although it’s uncertain when the leave started, and it’s not expected that she will return to her post, according to CNN.

Ross participated in an event hosted by a liberal advocacy group, known as Democracy Alliance, in California. The event included strategy sessions and panels. Ross participated in an event that centered on “getting the economic narrative right.”

The Washington Post said it didn’t know Ross had been involved with the event and claimed that Ross had been informed that the news organization “[d]iscourages participation in any activity that could be perceived as partisan.”

The Washington Free Beacon first reported Ross’ involvement in the event on Nov. 22 and Ross’ last story for the Washington Post is dated Nov. 29.

Ross has previously written for HuffPost and The Atlantic and has kept a low profile since her involvement with the event was revealed. Ross didn’t respond to multiple inquiries from CNN.
