Pence: ‘President Donald Trump will lead America to the stars’

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence told Florida voters that Donald Trump would lead America into outer space if elected president.

The Indiana governor’s closing pitch to voters on the Sunshine State’s Space Coast featured the Trump-Pence administration’s “new vision to America in space.”

“We all know that space is the final frontier and just as we’ve always done before, America needs to lead the way on the final frontier,” Pence said. “In the Trump-Pence administration space policy, we’ll also strengthen our military space mission and assets and re-orient our civilian space program toward deep space and exploration.”

He added, “President Donald Trump will lead America to the stars.”

Pence said the United States cannot afford to fall behind on space exploration and pledged to “use space dollars wisely.”

The GOP vice presidential nominee urged the Florida crowd to vote early after leaving the rally. He also excitedly noted polls that show Trump trailing but within the margin of error and one poll giving Trump a slight edge with one week remaining until Election Day.

“[T]his race is on: We’re within the margin of error in one poll after another!” Pence shouted. “And one poll just came out, we’re leading in the State of Florida and we’re going to sprint to the finish.”
