3 charged with using stun guns to rob MoCo cab drivers

Three people have been charged with robbing Montgomery County cab drivers by using stun guns.

Police said Tuesday that 18-year-old Jamel McInnis, 21-year-old Brandon Addison and 20-year-old Kevin Olaniyi have been arrested in connection with two robberies of Regency Cab drivers.

One robbery happened Jan. 10, when someone got into a cab near Sutler Square Terrace and Brewers Tavern Way in Clarksburg at about 1:15 a.m. and stunned the driver with a Taser-like device. The suspect stole cash and fled.

The second happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Jan. 15, when a cab driver picked up two people near the Rockville Metro station and took them to the 300 block of Lawrence Drive in Rockville. There, one of the people stunned the driver and the two stole cash.

The three men are facing robbery and assault charges.
