1. FAVORITE NEIGHBORHOOD HANGOUT
Mr. Henry’s in Capitol Hill, when I’m not at the Flea Market.
2. BEST MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
Unfortunately, my activities require the frequent use of vans and trucks. I love to support DDOT meters and the D.C. treasurer!
3. FAVORITE LOCAL SPORTS EVENT
None. … As an artist, I’m pretty much oblivious to sports.
4. BEST PLACE FOR LIVE MUSIC
I wish there was still a place to consistently catch great underground and free jazz like back in the day with the Space, One Step Down and the old 9:30 Club. These days, I enjoy the outdoor stage at the Downtown Holiday Market, which has the most eclectic local award-winning groups, and it’s free.
5. BEST PLACE FOR OUT-OF-TOWN VISITORS
Eastern Market, naturally!
6. FAVORITE MUSEUM
National Portrait Gallery.
7. MOST ROMANTIC SPOT
Bartholdi Park, aka the U.S. Botanical Gardens.

11. BEST RETREAT INSIDE THE BELTWAY
The Yards Park at Capitol Riverfront.
12. BEST PLACE FOR LATE-NIGHT EATS
Does the Fojol Bros. food truck deliver?
13. PROUDEST PART OF LIVING IN THE D.C. AREA
Green canopy, low skyline, preserved and restored historic buildings.
14. EMBARRASSING PART OF LIVING IN D.C. AREA
The amount of demolition of our historic buildings, especially downtown.
