Elizabeth Warren may be surging in early primary polls, but the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate received a mixed reception during her one-day swing through Nevada.
Warren, the senior senator for Massachusetts, was heckled by supporters of President Trump on Wednesday when she arrived at a Reno airport. The demonstrators, sporting MAGA hats and “Trump-Pence” signs, yelled, “Don’t impeach!” at the liberal firebrand.

Warren, who provided oversight for the federal banking bailout and helped start the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, was in Nevada for a presidential gun safety forum hosted by March for Our Lives and former Democratic Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords on Wednesday afternoon in Las Vegas.
At a sideline rally in Carson City, Warren was similarly disrupted by a pro-Trump protester bearing a “Keep America Great” sign.

Some members of the crowd, estimated to be about 1,550 people, responded to the man by shouting, “Lock him up!” a throwback to chants aimed at Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Warren was quick to subdue the audience, saying, “I understand that Donald Trump and his supporters are getting very nervous.”
Warren’s average support in Nevada is 18.3%, which puts her in third place behind former Vice President Joe Biden and independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, according to RealClearPolitics data. That figure is slightly below her national share of the vote at 24.4%, which ranks her second only to Biden. The Silver State will host the third nominating contest on Feb. 22 to decide the Democrat who will take on Trump.
