Ward 7 Councilwoman Yvette Alexander has been fined $4,000 by the D.C. Office of Campaign Fiancee for misusing her constituent services fund.
But Alexander was cleared of numerous allegations contained in a complaint filed in earlier this year that claimed she had accepted reduced rent for a constituent service office in exchange for government action, and accepted campaign contributions above the legal limit.
The campaign finance office did find that Alexander paid for a campaign robo-call using cash from her constituent services fund, which isn’t legally allowed to be applied to campaign activities. It also found Alexander didn’t report $4,700 from her constituent fund. A $2,000 fine was issued for each violation.
