The House Freedom Caucus took an official stand Tuesday, calling for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to either testify before the House Judiciary Committee or resign.
“Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein should come before the House Judiciary Committee within the week and testify under oath about his alleged comments, or he should resign immediately,” the caucus said in a comment tweeted out Tuesday night.

The caucus wants Rosenstein to appear before the committee in the upcoming week to testify about reports claiming that he talked about wearing a “wire” to record President Trump and invoking the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.
“You can’t have the number two official at the Department of Justice making comments about wiring the President and not address it,” Meadows, the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, said. “Rod Rosenstein must come before Congress this week, under oath, and tell the truth about his alleged statements.”

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., also said that there would be a subpoena for memos drafted by former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
The memos may mention the possibility that Rosenstein discussed secretly recording the president. Goodlatte said that he could issue the subpoena as early as Thursday, Fox News reported.
