Chandra Levy jury seeks elaboration from judge

The jury deciding the fate of the man accused of killing federal intern Chandra Levy sent a note Friday afternoon to Judge Gerald Fisher, asking about the definition of assault.

The D.C. Superior Court jury of nine women and three men asked whether there was a legal definition of assault, which is an element of the felony murder charge related to kidnapping that Ingmar Guandique faces.

It was the first substantive note from the jury, which has now deliberated for two-and-a-half days.

Guandique, 29, is accused of killing Levy in Rock Creek Park in 2001.
