U2 gave a shoutout to recovering House Majority Whip Steve Scalise after he was shot last week.
“You been through some troubling days with the shooting in Alexandria,” U2 frontman Bono said in a video shared on Scalise’s Twitter account Tuesday. “We are so grateful that Congressman Scalise and his comrades made it through. So grateful. We hold them up as love holds us all up.”
Thanks Bono & @U2. – #TeamScalise pic.twitter.com/7Eaaa0aeis

Scalise’s tweet thanked both Bono and the band, who were performing at FedExField in Landover, Md., near Washington, D.C., on Tuesday. It’s unclear whether Bono’s remarks about Scalise were actually delivered on Tuesday.
Scalise is recovering from a gunshot wound he got last week while practicing with the GOP team for the Congressional Baseball Game. Five other people are also recovering from injuries related to the incident.
Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was at the concert on Tuesday and shared multiple tweets about the experience.
