MARC train breaks down

A MARC train headed toward Baltimore lost power Wednesday afternoon, leaving passengers stranded without air conditioning for about 45 minutes. The train traveling on the Penn Line left D.C. at 4:15 p.m. and lost power north of New Carrollton at about 4:30 p.m., said Maryland Transit Administration spokesman Terry Owens. The locomotive lost power for an unknown reason and a rescue train was dispatched, arriving at 5:15 p.m. – David Sherfinski
