In an interview released by MSNBC on Saturday, Ohio Gov. John Kasich refused to rule out endorsing Republican nominee Donald Trump.
The acknowledgment comes on the heels of an escalating war of words between the presidential hopeful and Kasich, after the governor refused to endorse Trump. Trump then threatened to create a super PAC to stop Kasich in any future political runs and said he’d do the same of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who spoke at the Republican convention and, despite immense political pressure and a hostile crowd, refused to endorse Trump.
In the interview, Kasich said that he “takes no joy” in not endorsing Trump, adding that “maybe it will change” down the line.
Kasich also admitted that his refusal to endorse is not a popular choice.
