Nathan keeps Nickles’ public safety chief

Robert Hildum is still holding down his job as the head of the attorney general’s public safety division.

You may remember that Hildum held the top city public safety prosecutor job under former attorney general Peter Nickles until July, when Mayor Adrian Fenty appointed him interim chief of the District’s juvenile justice agency. He bailed on that job just weeks before Vince Gray was sworn in as mayor and Nickles gave Hildum his old job back.

Well, he’s still there and holding down the fort even though his new boss, Irvin Nathan, could have fired him. Although life may be getting a bit prickly as Nathan drops drunken driving cases left and right.
