President Trump shared a video of a group of anti-lockdown protesters confronting a local news reporter in Long Island.
The video, posted by News 12 Long Island reporter Kevin Vesey on Thursday, shows demonstrators berating him as he recorded the protest in Commack, New York.

“Traitor!” one person shouted out. “You are the enemy of the people,” said another. “Fake news coming through!” a man chanted as Vesey walked around the area.
“The level of anger directed at the media from these protesters was alarming. As always, I will tell a fair and unbiased story today,” Vesey said in a tweet in which he posted a clip after being confronted by the demonstrators.
Trump tweeted out the video to his supporters twice, first on Friday night when he quoted one of the protesters and captioned the video, “FAKE NEWS IS NOT ESSENTIAL!” The president again tweeted about the video on Saturday morning.

Long Island has been one of the areas hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. Nassau and Suffolk counties, which compose the island, have had more than 75,000 cases of COVID-19 and at least 3,700 deaths combined.
