Trump responds to terror on London subway with call for ‘larger, tougher’ travel ban

President Trump responded Friday to reports of a terrorist attack aboard the London subway with a tweet that his travel ban against six Middle Eastern countries “should be far larger.”

“The travel ban into the United States should be far larger, tougher and more specific-but stupidly, that would not be politically correct!” Trump tweeted Friday morning.

Trump added that his administration has “made more progress in the last nine months against ISIS than the Obama Administration has made in 8 years,” but said the U.S. must be “proactive” and “nasty” in its fight.

Trump also criticized the “loser terrorists” suspected to be behind the attack.

“Another attack in London by a loser terrorist. These are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard. Must be proactive!” Trump tweeted. “Loser terrorists must be dealt with in a much tougher manner. The internet is their main recruitment tool which we must cut off & use better!”

London police reported a bucket wrapped in an insulated bag caught fire aboard a subway train during morning rush hour Friday.

Commuters aboard the District Line train said a white plastic bucket inside a foil-lined shopping bag that may have contained wires inside went up in flames during their commute. People aboard the train panicked and tried to get away from the fire. Eighteen people have been hospitalized.
