Lawrence Jones is set to make his debut as the youngest black solo host of a cable news program.
The new show, Lawrence Jones Cross Country, will air on Fox News at 10 p.m. EST on Saturdays.
“This show will be unique in that each and every week, I’ll be traveling all across the country covering a wide range of issues from the front lines,” Jones told the Washington Examiner. “[My goal is] giving viewers an inside look at the biggest stories in America.”
Jones joined Fox News in 2018. He has worked as a guest host, enterprise reporter for Fox & Friends, and contributor on Hannity with man-on-the-street style interview segments.
“Lawrence has been an impact player since joining the network,” Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said. “His perspective has added depth to our programming while resonating with the audience.”
Jones said his goal is to connect with everyday people and tell often-overlooked stories.

“Not only will viewers get a firsthand look at the biggest challenges facing our communities,” Jones said, “they’ll also be presented with solutions to these problems. That’s not only important each week to the black community but all communities from coast to coast.”

Jones talked about being a libertarian and has not been shy about his faith. He promised an honest approach to the topics covered on his show.
“Don’t expect to see politicians have free rein to recite talking points,” Jones said. “This will not be that kind of show. I will be challenging elected officials, regardless of their party, because that’s what viewers and voters expect during these tough times for the country. I’m not only a Christian but I’m a preacher’s kid too. Christ is my ultimate compass, even though I fall short sometimes.”
The host added that his journey to this point has humbled him.
“I’m able to witness how much it means not only to me but to my family,” Jones said. “My mama had me at 17, and my daddy married her. It wasn’t all peaches and cream for me and two siblings. We didn’t have a lot, but that was no excuse. Excellence wasn’t some sort of suggestion — it was required.”
Despite the challenges facing America, Jones said he wants to leave viewers with smiles on their faces.

“You never know where we are going to take you, but expect to share some smiles and much-needed laughs as we hit the road together,” Jones said.
Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade will also host his own Saturday show, which is set to debut at 8 p.m. EST.
