Trump ‘disappointed’ in ‘so-called Republicans’ who won’t repeal Obamacare

President Trump said Tuesday he is “disappointed” in “so-called Republicans” who will oppose a third bill that would have amended Obamacare.

“We were very disappointed by a couple of senators, Republican senators. I must say, we were very disappointed that they would take the attitude that they did. We don’t know why they did it, you can sort of figure that,” Trump told reporters Tuesday morning.

“But we’ll see what happens. It’s going along and at some point, there will be a repeal and replace. But we’ll see whether that point is now or whether it will be shortly thereafter. But we are disappointed in certain so-called Republicans,” Trump added.

Maine Sen. Susan Collins announced she would join Sens. John McCain and Rand Paul in opposing the bill, all but killing the bill before it came up for a vote. The Republican senators would provide enough opposition — along with 48 Democratic votes — to block the bill.

Republicans have so far been stymied in their attempts to repeal Obamacare after taking control of Congress and the presidency in January.

Three different versions of repealing the Affordable Care Act have failed due to intraparty squabbles.

The Senate has until Sept. 30 to pass a bill without Democratic support through the reconciliation rules, which allow for a simple majority to be enough to pass a bill that reduces th federal deficit.
