Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Friday that politicians and media on the Left continue to be excused from making controversial statements, while those on the Right continue to be punished.

Spicer spoke on Fox News about TBS host Samantha Bee, who called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c–t” but whose show was allowed to stay on the air. In contrast, Roseanne Barr’s show was canceled immediately after she implied former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett looked like an ape.
“The idea that this isn’t being called out, that the Left gets a pass,” he said on Fox News.
“The theme is consistent,” he said. “The Left gets away with stuff the Right gets called out for.”
Spicer said another example if Virginia Democrat Dan Helmer, who is running an ad that compares Trump to Osama bin Laden.
“The idea that you’re comparing the president of the United States to a terrorist that inflicted death to our country, it is reprehensible,” Spicer said.
“It’s one extreme after the next, because that’s the only way they can win a Democratic primary these days, which is go as far as you can to the Left,” he said. “It’s a sad state when that’s the level that you have to go at to win a Democratic primary these days.”
