Lots of towns and jurisdictions in the D.C. area plan to have fireworks displays. The big one is on the National Mall starting at 9:10 p.m. (nps.gov/foju/fireworks). Some good places to view the show besides the Mall include the Marine Corps War Memorial, the Air Force Memorial and Gravelly Point. Here are a few other highlights from around the area, but most municipalities host their own shows, so check around. Fairfax: Musical entertainment starts at 7 p.m. Monday at Fairfax High School, and the fireworks show begins at dark.
Falls Church: Check out the show at George Mason High School on the Fourth. Fireworks are slated to begin at 9:30 p.m.
McLean: Langley High School will host music, food and activities for all ages Monday. The grounds open at 6 p.m., and the fireworks start at dusk.
National Harbor: In addition to a fireworks display at the Uncle Sam Jam on Saturday, National Harbor will host another fireworks show on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are required for the show, so visit nationalharbor.com.
Gaithersburg: Fireworks begin at dusk at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds on Monday.
Bowie: Starting at 3 p.m. Monday, Allen Pond Park will host entertainment and fireworks.
