RNC chairman: Koch wanted to ‘appear non-partisan’ with Clinton comments

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus argued on Sunday that billionaire conservative Charles Koch was just trying to “appear non-partisan” when he suggested that Hillary Clinton might make a better president than any of her Republican rivals.

“I know David and Charles and Charles, in particular, has often times gone out of his way to appear non-partisan and maybe he is,” Priebus said on ABC’s “This Week.”

“They have their own activities they work on, we have ours,” he added. “There isn’t that much intersection between the two,” he added.

Asked in an interview with ABC on Sunday whether Clinton “could be better” than a Republican in the White House, Koch said, “It’s possible.”

“We would have to believe her actions would be quite different than her rhetoric, Koch said. “Let me put it that way.”
