Vice President Joe Biden advised Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine Tuesday to make sure he’s on the same page with Hillary Clinton before he debates Indiana Gov. Mike Pence in the first and only vice presidential debate.
“Think about whether you made the right decision,” Biden advised Kaine when asked by a reporter what advice he had for Kaine.
“Because it could be a long day in that office over there … if you don’t agree with the president,” he said, pointing to the White House, according to an account from a reporter in the room.
Biden spoke at an event dealing with his effort to boost cancer research, and said that Clinton has asked him to remain with the initiative during her administration, should she win.
“The bad news for you is Hillary’s asked me to stay on to do this,” he reportedly said. “I’m confident she’s going to be the next president.”
