Kaine Dodges Question about Repealing Hyde Amendment

Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine has created some confusion about his position on the Hyde amendment, a longstanding budget measure that bans federal funding of abortion except in extreme cases.

Hillary Clinton wants to repeal the Hyde amendment. Kaine says that he continues to oppose its repeal, but spokesmen for Hillary Clinton say that, with regard to Hyde, Kaine is “committed to carrying out Secretary Clinton’s agenda.”
