WATCH: Boy goes out of his way for act of kindness at Nationals game

A young boy at Tuesday night’s Washington Nationals baseball game is going viral for an act of generosity.

The child, whose name has not been made public, got his hands on a ball that wound up in the stands as the team played the Oakland Athletics.

Not wanting to keep it for himself, the boy walked through the stands to give it away. He passed numerous adults in multiple sections before giving the ball to a young girl.

The moment was shared on the team’s social media.

“Best highlight of the day. A young Nats fan went multiple sections to find someone to give a ball to and ended up giving it to a little girl,” the team said. “This is what it’s all about.”

The moment received play-by-play commentary by Dan Kolko and Kevin Frandsen with the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, which was broadcasting the game.

“What a stud! Well played!” the announcers remarked and applauded.

A woman who said she is the girl’s mother took to Twitter to thank the other child.

“I can’t believe my daughter is going viral all over the internet right now @Nationals thank you for posting this,” she said. “My daughter was so happy to receive the ball and to the little boy who gave our daughter the ball, you made her day even more special!”

It’s unclear if the boy will again be looking to hand out a souvenir in the stands.
