Rick Scott: No more ‘Never Trump’

Florida Gov. Rick Scott called on the “Never Trump” movement to disband their efforts after Donald Trump’s five primary wins Tuesday night, claiming that it is “time for Republicans to unite” around the inevitable nominee.

“Yesterday’s election results show that the anti-Trump efforts didn’t work,” Scott wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon. “Republicans now need to come together. Donald Trump is going to be our nominee, and he is going to be on the ballot as the Republican candidate for president.”

Scott endorsed Trump the day after the businessman won the Florida primary in March. He went on to claim any Republican voter who does not unify around Trump only aids the Hillary Clinton campaign.

“If the anti-Trump groups don’t stop now, their efforts will be nothing more than a contribution to the Clinton campaign,” Scott wrote. “The damage that President Obama has done to our country is serious and substantial. We cannot afford another four years of liberal incompetence, and that is exactly what Hillary Clinton would bring.”
