Trump erupted at campaign manager over slipping poll numbers: Report

President Trump erupted during a recent phone call with his campaign manager, at one point threatening to sue him.

Trump was meeting with advisers late Friday and fuming over his poll numbers and the criticism he was facing for floating disinfectant as a coronavirus treatment when he began shouting into the phone at his campaign manager Brad Parscale, according to CNN.

Two days before the berating, Parscale and other advisers briefed Trump on internal campaign and Republican National Committee data showing the president could lose key battleground states.

The group briefing Trump, including Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, advised him to do fewer coronavirus briefings, giving him data that showed they were hurting him with swing voters in battleground states.

Trump has argued his lack of rallies, not the briefings, is damaging his chances of reelection.

“He’s pissed because he knows he messed up in those briefings,” a Republican close to the White House told the network.

Trump and Parscale mended things later Friday, and the president has since scaled back on his lengthy briefings.
