More than 100 anti-war protesters were arrested Saturday for demonstration violations during a rally outside the White House to mark the eighth anniversary of the Iraq war.
The 113 protesters were arrested for disobeying an official order, said Sgt. David Schlosser, a U.S. Park Police spokesman. Daniel Ellsberg, the man who leaked the Pentagon Papers, was among those arrested, Schlosser said.
He characterized the group arrested as cooperative.
The protesters were carrying signs with peace symbols and calling for an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
