Marlon Bundo Pence, the first bunny of the United States, will be the starring character in a children’s book written by Vice President Mike Pence’s daughter and illustrated by second lady Karen Pence.
“In the book, I follow Grampa [Pence] around all day, as a BOTUS should, while he goes about his duties as Vice President!” a post on Marlon Bundo’s Instagram account announced Friday.
BOTUS, of course, stands for Bunny of the United States.
A Big Announcement for my Friends! Coming to a bookstore near you on March 19! Mom wrote a children’s book about me and Grandma painted beautiful watercolors in it, too! In the book, I follow Grampa around all day, as a BOTUS should, while he goes about his duties as Vice President! Also, Mom and Grandma are donating a portion of their proceeds to charity! Check out my Instagram story for more info (and to pre-order)! (Next time I do a book signing, I’m going to practice my paw print beforehand!)A post shared by Marlon Bundo (Pence) (@marlonbundo) on Sep 15, 2017 at 7:46am PDT
A press release from Regnery Publishing said Karen and Charlotte Pence each will donate a portion of the book’s proceeds to charity: the second lady to an art therapy program and Charlotte Pence to a nonprofit dedicated to abolishing human trafficking.
“Marlon Bundo’s A Day in the Life of the Vice President” will be released on March 19. A post on Instagram showed the bunny “signing” an agreement with his paw print.
Marlon Bundo has become an Instagram star since taking up residence at the Naval Observatory and has made several official appearances with the vice president.
He “teased” the book announcement last month on Instagram: “Patiently waiting until I can tell you all some really exciting news! It’s so hard!”
