Trump: Vote Democrats, liberals who ‘want to disarm law-abiding Americans’ out of office

President Trump condemned lawmakers of the Left on Friday, calling for Americans to vote out of office any liberal politicians who oppose tougher immigration laws and support stricter gun control.

“Democrats and liberals in Congress want to disarm law-abiding Americans at the same time they are releasing dangerous criminal aliens and savage gang members onto our streets. Politicians who put criminal aliens before American Citizens should be voted out of office!” Trump tweeted.

“We are going to demand Congress secure the border in the upcoming CR. Illegal immigration must end!” Trump continued.

His tweets come months before the 2018 midterms.

Earlier in the day Friday, Trump addressed the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting, showing strong support for the prominent gun rights group after suggesting months earlier he was open to some firearm restrictions in the wake of the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Fla.

Trump signed the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill in March, keeping the government funded through Sept. 30. He did so begrudgingly as the legislation only gave him 1.6 billion for wall construction, which was far less than the $25 billion he wanted.

During a rally in Michigan on Saturday, Trump threatened to “close down the country” for funds for his border wall.
