White House press secretary wore an American flag lapel pin upside down at his daily press briefing on Friday.
The pin’s unfortunate orientation was pointed out by Fox News’ John Roberts, who got the first question.
“John Roberts always helping with the fashion. I appreciate that. Thank you,” Spicer said as he fixed the pin.
When asked about whether it was a reference to HBO’s “House of Cards” season 5 promo, which features an upside down American flag, Spicer said it wasn’t.
“There is no promo. Now onto your question. Thank you,” he said.
The Twitter account for the show tweeted at Spicer: “Your loyalty has not gone unnoticed.”
