Police are searching for a suspect in a double shooting this morning that left one woman dead and another injured. The shooting occurred about 10:20 a.m. in the Parkway Crossing shopping center parking lot on Cleanleigh Drive off, Perring Parkway in the Baltimore County community of Parkville.
The women were shot multiple times while sitting in a gray sedan that was parked outside of the Payless Shoesource at 2425 Cleanleigh Drive. At least four bullet casings were found on the ground outside of the car.
“We do not believe this was a random shooting,” Baltimore County Police Cpl. Mike Hill said. “We believe the suspect and the victims knew each other.”
The 24-year-old woman seated in the passenger seat of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. She became Baltimore County?s 15th homicide victim of the year. The second woman was taken by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Police did not have a description of the suspect late this morning.
