After Dane County finished its recount on Sunday, President-elect Joe Biden held on to a 20,600-vote lead on President Trump in Wisconsin.
Biden’s margin increased by 87 votes after the recount. Dane County reported a 45-vote gain for Trump, and Milwaukee County shifted slightly further in Biden’s corner with 132 votes.
BREAKING: Dane County #WI recount results are in- a net gain of 45 votes for Donald Trump, which will be nowhere near what he needs to close the 20,000 vote lead Joe Biden has in the state. Dane Co could certify as soon as today and WI could follow soon after.

“As we have said, the recount only served to reaffirm Joe Biden’s victory in Wisconsin,” Biden official Danielle Melfi told the Associated Press.
With a margin in the tens of thousands, there were very few people who expected a recount to shift the tide in Trump’s favor. Of the 31 statewide recounts since 2000, only three changed the outcome of an election, and each of those races had margins fewer than 300 votes.
Wisconsin counties have until Tuesday to certify their results, according to Channel 3000.
The recount loss follows a hand recount in Georgia that confirmed Biden’s win in the state by more than 12,000 votes. The Trump campaign requested a second recount of the roughly 5 million votes cast in Georgia, which is still underway. Counties have until Dec. 2 to conclude the second recount, according to the Associated Press.
On Twitter, Trump argued the Wisconsin recount was “not about finding mistakes in the count.” Instead, he claimed it was about identifying people who voted illegally.
“The Wisconsin recount is not about finding mistakes in the count, it is about finding people who have voted illegally,” he tweeted on Saturday. “That case will be brought after the recount is over, on Monday or Tuesday. We have found many illegal votes. Stay tuned!”

No evidence so far has been found proving widespread voter fraud in any state.
A number of lawsuits have been filed in Wisconsin regarding the election. The conservative Wisconsin Voters Alliance filed a suit against election officials to block the certification of the results. Gov. Tony Evers’s attorneys asked the state’s Supreme Court to dismiss the case. A suit filed by a Wisconsin resident alleged that ballots put in drop boxes were illegal and cannot be counted, according to the Associated Press.
