Kenan Thompson said the constant coverage of President Trump is “overly repetitive” and could be exhausting the country.
Thompson, 41, told The Hill that he believes the whole nation is suffering from “Trump fatigue.”
Portrayals of the president have been a staple of “Saturday Night Live” since his election in 2016. Actor Alec Baldwin mocked the president in his weekly skits, drawing criticism from Trump.
Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent!

In June, Baldwin said he was “so done with” portraying Trump, but returned to play the president’s character during last Saturday’s show.
Thompson claimed endless coverage of Trump has been “a little tiring.”
“I think anything overly repetitive gets a little tiring,” he said. “But it seems like there’s just Trump fatigue in general.”
The comedian noted, however, that he believes the nation’s “fatigue” could contribute to the president’s downfall.
“It seems like there’s a new day approaching,” he said.
The president is facing impeachment from House Democrats, who have scheduled a vote to formalize the inquiry on Thursday.
Thompson has been a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” longer than any other comedian in the show’s history.
