Stormy Daniels takes credit for Michael Cohen’s downfall

Porn star Stormy Daniels, who has been tied up in a legal dispute with President Trump this year over an alleged affair, took credit for the downfall of Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen.

“Stormy Daniels is the one who backed Michael Cohen into a corner,” Bill Palmer, who heads the political blog Palmer Report, tweeted Friday. “She should be getting a hell of a lot more credit today than she’s getting. But she won’t, because she’s a porn star and she’s a woman.”

“Thank you,” Daniels said in response. “And you are sadly correct.”

Cohen entered a new plea deal with Mueller on Thursday and confessed he “knowingly and willfully made a materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statement and representation” to Congress regarding a Trump real estate project in Moscow.

He sent a letter in August 2017 to the Senate and House Intelligence committees about Trump Organization efforts to establish a Trump Tower in Moscow, in which he said the project was last discussed in January 2016. Court documents indicate the project was discussed as late as summer 2016, when Trump had secured the Republican nomination.

Earlier this year, Daniels filed a lawsuit claiming the nondisclosure agreement she signed to keep quiet about her affair with Trump should be nullified because Trump didn’t sign it. Cohen had paid Daniels $130,000 as part of the agreement, but pleaded guilty in August to eight criminal counts including willful cause of unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of excessive campaign contribution, made on Oct. 27, 2016.

The payments were made by Cohen per the direction of the “candidate” Daniels and a former Playboy model who also alleged she had an affair with Trump, so they wouldn’t share their stories with the media.

Trump has denied both affairs.
