Brother of Jeff Bezos mistress questioned in investigation into leak of texts

Jeff Bezos’ personal security consultant has questioned the brother of his mistress in the investigation into how the pair’s racy text messages were obtained by the National Enquirer.

Gavin de Becker confirmed to the Daily Beast he had questioned Michael Sanchez, the brother of Lauren Sanchez, as part of his investigation. Michael Sanchez has ties to several figures in President Trump’s orbit, including Roger Stone, Carter Page, and Scottie Nell Hughes.

Bezos, the world’s richest man, believes the leak of the texts, which ended Bezos’ marriage, were politically motivated.

People familiar with the probe told the Daily Beast that investigators have explored whether Bezos’ phone was hacked but have found no evidence of such thing. They also explored whether Lauren Sanchez had leaked the texts herself in an effort to end Bezos’ marriage.

The theory that the leak was politically motivated relates to President Trump’s attacks on the Amazon founder and Washington Post owner.

Stone, who is facing several charges related to special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, appeared on InfoWars on Wednesday, falsely claiming the Daily Beast would be publishing a report accusing him of scheming with the Trump administration to hack Bezos’ phone.

Michael Sanchez has accused the “deep state” and the National Security Agency of being responsible for the leak, the news outlet reported.
