Rep. Glenn Thompson tests positive for COVID-19 in breakthrough case

Pennsylvania Rep. Glenn Thompson tested positive for COVID-19 in a breakthrough case, his office announced Friday.

Thompson, 62, began having “cold-like” symptoms Friday afternoon and was quickly tested for COVID-19, according to a press release. It came back positive, and Thompson is being treated at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center “out of an abundance of caution,” his office said.

The GOP congressman remains in “good spirits,” the statement added.

Thompson’s office said he was vaccinated, marking what is called a “breakthrough case.”
