Barbra Streisand: Spicer should be fired for Hitler comments

White House press secretary Sean Spicer should be fired for falsely claiming Adolf Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons, Barbra Streisand said.

“Sean Spicer should be fired for saying Hitler did not use chemical weapons on ‘his own people.’ You mean 6 million Jews don’t count?” the singer tweeted Tuesday after the daily press briefing.

While discussing Syrian President Bashar Assad’s use of chemical weapons against his own citizens, Spicer inaccurately said Hitler “didn’t even sink to using chemical weapons.”

A few minutes later he attempted to clarify.

“I think when you come to sarin gas, there was no, he was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Ashad [sic] is doing … there was not in the — he brought them into the Holocaust center, I understand that, but I’m saying in that the way that Assad used them, where he went into towns, dropped them down, to innocent, into the middle of towns, it was brought, the use of it,” Spicer said.

Those comments caused further controversy as he referred to concentration camps as a “Holocaust center.”

After the briefing he released a statement saying he “in no way … trying to lessen the horrendous nature of the Holocaust.”
