Upstate New York man charged in school bus crash

LISBON, N.Y. (AP) — A 45-year-old northern New York man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after his pickup truck crashed into the rear of a school bus.

State police say Timothy Dishaw of Lisbon was operating a pickup truck early Tuesday evening in his St. Lawrence County hometown when he struck the rear driver’s-side tire of a school bus carrying six children and one adult passenger as well as the driver.

There were no reported injuries to anybody on the bus, but Dishaw suffered a broken ankle. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Dishaw was charged with DWI, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and failure to keep right.

Troopers say they’re still investigating and more charges are possible.
