Two of former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s relatives have filed a defamation lawsuit against CNN related to the QAnon conspiracy theory.
Flynn’s brother, Jack Flynn, and sister-in-law, Leslie Flynn, filed a $75 million lawsuit against the cable news network in U.S. District Court in New York City, claiming the network deceptively edited footage to paint them as QAnon supporters.

The Flynn’s say that a CNN segment titled “CNN Goes Inside A Gathering Of QAnon Followers” incorrectly linked them to the conspiracy theory by showing the family reciting the pledge “Where we go one, we go all.” The family says that the pledge, often recited by QAnon supporters, was not connected to the group and that they are “not followers or supporters of any extremist or terrorist groups, including QAnon.”

“CNN’s false attributions exposed Plaintiffs to public scorn, ridicule and contempt, and lowered their esteem in the community, causing insult, embarrassment, humiliation and substantial injury to Plaintiffs’ reputations,” the suit says.

The QAnon theory originated via online message boards and revolves around the idea that former President Donald Trump was engaged in a clandestine battle against satan worshippers and pedophiles.
Big Tech giants YouTube and Facebook have both banned QAnon supporters from the platforms, and Democrats have argued that the group is largely responsible for the Capitol Hill uprising in January.
