Britney Spears’s father agrees to step down as conservator

James Spears, the father of Britney Spears, agreed he would eventually step down as conservator of the pop star’s estate.

The elder Spears made the commitment in legal documents filed Thursday in a Los Angeles court, which indicated he was already working to transition out of the role with his 39-year-old daughter’s former legal representation, Sam Ingham, who resigned as her lawyer in July.
