Mysterious man wearing TV on his head leaves old TVs on porches

A man masked with a small television set has been spotted leaving older model TVs on porches and steps of neighborhood homes in Virginia.

Several doorbell home security cameras spotted the man leaving small, older model TVs on porches in Henrico Country and simply walking away. He is seen clearly on the footage donning a small television on his head.

“At most this seems to be more an inconvenience to the community,” said one Henrico police officer, suggesting that the mysterious gift of obsolete TVs was simply a prank and was not meant to target anyone individually.

“We got an old tube-style TV, 13-inch,” said homeowner Jim Brooksbank. “It’s summer, and people are getting ready to go back to school. Maybe TV man was just ready to strike and put a little humor in our lives,” he said.

“I thought my son brought it home, but apparently not,” said neighbor Michael Kroll. “They had way too much time on their hands if they had all these TV’s and spread them all over the neighborhood … I think it’s just a prank. Some college students who are just bored.”

The TVs, which were left on Saturday night, were collected by police the following day along with security footage from several neighbors who had been recipients of the old sets. Police stated that the only crime that could be investigated was illegal dumping.

“He wants to be known as the TV Santa Claus,” Brooksbank offered. “I don’t know.”
