President Obama does not expect a Hillary Clinton administration to be a continuation of his own two terms, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said on Thursday.
“They do not have the same opinion on every issue but … the president said unequivocally that he does not believe [there’s been a] candidate more qualified to hold this office,” Earnest said. He was responding to Donald Trump’s reaction to Obama’s endorsement of Clinton over Twitter, where he said Obama wanted “four more years” of his own leadership when “nobody else does!”
After working with her for four years when she served as his secretary of state, Obama is struck by “her tenacity, her dedication, her commitment to a set of principles that they share and that’s why the president is quite enthusiastic about her campaign,” Earnest said.
