President Trump will not meet Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, when he meets the other members of the royal family in the United Kingdom next month.
Trump is slated to meet with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, when he arrives in the United Kingdom next week. He also will meet with Prince William and his wife the Duchess of Cambridge, the former Kate Middleton, as well as Meghan’s husband Prince Harry.
Although the former Meghan Markle called Trump “divisive” ahead of the 2016 election, royal commentator Victoria Arbiter pointed out in an interview with Inside Edition the duchess’s absence is due to the fact she’s still on maternity leave.
Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed a son, Archie Harrison, this month.
Trump will also meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May, who is resigning from her post next month. The president last visited the United Kingdom in July 2018.
