A 32-year-old District Heights man was struck and killed early Thursday as he walked near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Walters Lane in Forestville, according to Prince George’s County police.
It is the second fatal accident at the location this week.
Investigators said it appears Tyrone Chambers Jr., of the 6600 block of Merritt Street, was crossing the road around 6 a.m. when he was struck by the left front headlight region of a vehicle.
Other vehicles then struck Chambers, investigators said, but are not responsible for the man’s death.
Police seek the drivers of those vehicles as well as anyone else who might have information about the incident.
On Sunday night, a 32-year-old off-duty D.C. police officer on a motorcycle collided with a pedestrian, police said.
Donovan Baily, a Metropolitan police officer, was on his motorcycle around 7:30 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue between Walters Lane and Donnell Drive, police said, when he hit 52-year-old Ronald Eugene Buckmon.
