Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly honored his son Friday morning during an interview about Memorial Day, calling him the “finest man I ever knew.”
“Finest guy,” Kelly said of his son, 2nd Lt. Robert Kelly, during an interview on “Fox and Friends.”
“Wonderful guy. Wonderful husband. Wonderful son. Wonderful brother. Brave beyond all get out,” he continued. “His men still correspond with us. They still mourn him as we do.”
Robert Kelly, 29, was killed in a roadside bomb blast in 2010 during a foot patrol in Afghanistan’s Helmand province. John Kelly became secretary of the Department of Homeland Security in January.
