First lady Melania Trump is “ doing fantastic” following her COVID-19 diagnosis, according to the president.
“How is my favorite lady on the planet next to my wife doing, Mrs. Trump?” radio show host Michael Savage asked President Trump on Tuesday.
“She’s doing fantastic. She says hello. I said I’d be speaking to you. It’s great to speak to you,” Trump responded.

Melania Trump tested positive for the coronavirus on Oct. 1, the same day as the president, and has been recuperating. Dr. Sean Conley, the White House physician, described her symptoms as “mild” at the time, and the first lady released a health update on her Twitter account on Oct. 5.
“My family is grateful for all of the prayers & support! I am feeling good & will continue to rest at home,” she wrote. “Thank you to medical staff & caretakers everywhere, & my continued prayers for those who are ill or have a family member impacted by the virus.”
The president, meanwhile, has recovered from the virus and returned to the campaign trail this week. On Monday, he held a rally in Florida and said he felt “powerful” after his recovery.
“I feel so powerful,” he said. “I’ll walk into that audience. I’ll walk in there, I’ll kiss everyone in that audience. I’ll kiss the guys and the beautiful women – everybody.”
