Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing a majority disapproval rating, according to a recent poll.
The Postmedia-Leger poll surveyed 1,501 Canadians 18 and older and found that 32% of them strongly disapproved of Trudeau’s performance and only 23% somewhat disapproved for a combined total of 55%.
British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan represent the areas with the highest disapproval rating at 60%. The runners-up were Alberta and Quebec with 58% disapproving.
TRUDEAU AND BIDEN VINDICATE FEARS OF HANDGUN BANS
An additional 60% agreed that the prime minister has been divisive during his term, with another 40% saying that the country has become worse since he took office. Only 17% believe the country has gotten better. As a result, 49% said they’d like to see Trudeau resign.
“When you take the results to these questions in their entirety, one can’t help but think the progressive coalition that elected Trudeau to his majority in 2015 and contributed to his back-to-back minorities is significantly strained, if not broken,” Leger Executive Vice-President Andrew Enns said.
Trudeau’s father, Pierre Trudeau, also served as Canada’s prime minister from 1968 to 1979 and from 1980 to 1984.
