After weeks of being chastised for being unable to bring in big-name celebrities to perform at his inauguration, President-elect Trump Wednesday touted Jackie Evancho’s album sales since she decided to perform.
Evancho, a 16-year-old singer who will sing the national anthem on Jan. 20, saw her albums Dream With Me and O Holy Night, a Christmas album, shoot up to number 2 on the Billboard 200 album chart following the announcement before Christmas.
Since then, sales have cooled with “Dream With Me” and “O Holy Night” falling off the charts — her latest album, “Someday At Christmas,” dropped from number 93 to number 134 this week — but Trump credited himself with causing her sales to skyrocket.
