Trump says North Korea ‘behaving very badly’ and wants China to do more

In the wake of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson announcing a tougher posture toward North Korea, President Trump said the Kim Jong Un regime is “behaving very badly” and called out China for not doing more to help.

“North Korea is behaving very badly. They have been “playing” the United States for years. China has done little to help!” Trump tweeted.

In Seoul, Tillerson said Friday morning that a pre-emptive military action against North Korea was an option and that American patience with North Korea aggression is running out. That stance received praise from Republicans and Democrats alike on morning cable news shows.

A tougher foreign policy stance is a hallmark of Trump’s rhetoric, as is calling on China to do more in containing Kim’s saber-rattling. Trump is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping next month and North Korea is expected to be on the agenda.

Trump’s first international crisis in office came when North Korea fired a missile into the Pacific Ocean during a meeting between Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
