Illinois State Police search for murder suspect

WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. (AP) — Illinois State Police are continuing their search for a man newly accused in connection with a 2011 shooting death in southwestern Illinois’ Washington Park.

St. Clair County prosecutors on Friday charged 25-year-old Michael Williams II of East St. Louis with first-degree murder.

Williams is the second man accused in the killing of 35-year-old Edward Austin. Twenty-eight-year-old Ramos Sanders is serving a 50-year sentence after being convicted of first-degree murder.

Investigators say police responding to a reported burglary at Austin’s home in December 2011 found the man’s body.

Online court records don’t show whether Williams has an attorney. He does not have a listed home telephone number.
