Bernie Sanders has a private meeting today at the White House with President Barack Obama. The meeting, which is scheduled not to exceed 45 minutes, will take place in the Oval Office.
Here’s how the White House is describing the meeting:
“[T]he President will meet with Senator Bernie Sanders. This meeting in the Oval Office is closed press.”
The meeting comes as Sanders gains against Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton. The two are neck and neck in Iowa, which caucuses next week on February 1.
But Sanders is beating Clinton pretty handily in New Hampshire, according to a slew of recent public opinion polls.
